Frequently Asked Questions
We understand how emotional and overwhelming this time can be. These are some of the most common questions we receive — we hope the answers offer comfort and clarity.
How do I know when it’s time to say goodbye?
This is one of the hardest decisions a pet parent will ever face, and it’s completely normal to feel uncertain.
While we don’t offer formal quality of life consultations, we’re always happy to speak with you gently about your concerns and help you reflect on your pet’s comfort, mobility, and overall wellbeing.
You may also wish to speak with your regular vet or use a quality-of-life assessment tool to help guide your decision. Whatever you choose, please know we’re here with understanding and support.
What will happen during the in-home visit?
Our visits are calm and unhurried. We begin by giving your pet a light sedative to help them relax and drift off peacefully in your arms or in their favourite spot.
Once they are deeply asleep, we give the final medication, which gently allows them to pass.
You are welcome to be with them the entire time, and we’ll support you through every step.
How long will the appointment take?
We usually spend around 45–60 minutes with you. Some families need more time, others less — there is no rush. We move at the pace that feels right for you and your pet.
How much does this service cost?
Our pricing depends on your location, your pet’s size, and any aftercare options you may choose.
We will always talk you through costs beforehand, and we’re happy to answer any questions.
Pre-payment is required before the visit.
Can I be with my pet during the process?
Yes, absolutely. Many families choose to stay close, offering comfort with their presence, touch, and words. But if you’d prefer not to be present, that’s okay too. We’re here to support you in whatever feels right.
What happens afterward?
If you choose cremation, we can safely and carefully take your pet with us after the visit.
We offer both individual (ashes returned to you) and communal (no ashes returned) cremation options. You’re also welcome to make your own arrangements if preferred.
Can my children or other pets be present?
Yes, if that feels right for your family. Children and other pets can benefit from being included in the goodbye. We’re happy to guide you on how to prepare and support them through it.
What areas do you service?

Do you offer same-day or after-hours appointments?
